I am 27 years old and I currently live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
My parents are Japanese and immigrated from Japan but I was born in Canada. I grew up in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. I have one older sister.
I have a BA in Economics (2008) and I just recently finished my MA in Economics (2010) both from the University of Waterloo. During university I was passionately involved in many extra-curricular activities. I am fluent in english, fluent in japanese (although I cannot read or write), have a moderate command of french (I spent 8 years in french immersion during elementary school and had 4 years of advanced french classes in high school; I have a french language certificate), and know a hint of spanish (it’s very close to french and I took two courses in university).
I am very analytically minded, a moderate perfectionist, left-handed for writing and using chopsticks, and love people. In particular, I love interacting with people and analyzing social behaviour.
I am a computer geek. But you probably wouldn’t think so if you met me for the first time. In particular, I enjoy web development using a combination of Ruby, Rails, Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
I enjoy a variety of sports and in particular I have spent most of my life training karate. I enjoy weight training and I was also an avid hockey and soccer player in my youth. I love roller-blading in the summer and ice-skating during the winter.
My two favourite bands are Jimmy Eat World and Something Corporate but I enjoy all other types of music and do not dislike any in particular. I can play guitar and I’ve had my Fender Stratocaster since I was 15 but I don’t give it the attention that it deserves.
I’m really into Photography.
